Madison Legion Grabs Win Against West Haven

The Madison Senior American Legion 19-U baseball team claimed a 9-2 road win versus West Haven in its lone game on last week’s schedule. With the victory, Post 97 improved its record to 10-3 for a 1.5-game lead over Wallingford for first place in the Zone 2 standings.

Madison played a road game against West Haven on July 7. Post 79 notched a 9-2 victory in the Zone 2 matchup at Piurek Field. Matt Carone pitched a complete-game shutout to lead Madison to the lopsided win over West Haven. Second baseman Jared Kuryan, outfielder Jeff Pinover, and outfielder Ken Nuzzi each two hits. Nuzzi produced three RBI, while Kuryan drove home two runs.
