The Deep River Horseshoe League managed to get the Week 6 slate in before the rain threatened to postpone the action. There was some reshuffling throughout the standings as some teams secured some sizable wins behind a slew of strong performances this week.

In the A Divsion, the Marlins’ Mark Goodale led all throwers with a high of 152, while Mike Zanelli, Sr., of the Giants notched a high of 148. Tony Cutone of the Angels round out the top marks of the A division with a score of 138 thanks in part to 34 ringers and six doubles.

In the B Division, Ed Turner of the Red Sox posted a score of 128 for top marks, and the Reds’ Andy Perna continued his dominance among the B’s with another appearance in the top-3 with a score of 108. The Giants’ Ted Dubay was third among the B Division with a tally of 104.

In the C Division, the Pirates’ Sheryl Serviss took top marks with a score of 134 including 36 ringers and nine doubles. Serviss’s ringers and doubles were league-high marks thus far on the year. The Marlins’ Karen Perna posted a score of 115, and the Dodgers’ Scott Allen, Jr. supplied a score of 93.

The Marlins beat the Cardinals by a 5-1 score to bump the redbirds down to third place in the standings as the fish jumped into second place. Pudge Goodrich and the Reds climbed into first place after beating Todd Nuhn and the Mets by a 5-1 score. Each Reds’ player tallied scores over 100 in that bout.
