Westbrook Boys’ Track Represents at State Open

The Westbrook boys’ outdoor track team had two athletes take part in individual events and also saw a relay compete at the State Open Championship meet at New Britain’s Willow Brook Park on June 10. The Knights scored three points and finished in a tie for 48th place in the State Open standings.

Junior Brett Metcalfe scored three points for Westbrook with a sixth-place finish in the high jump at the State Open. Metcalfe cleared the bar at 6 feet on his way to placing sixth in the high jump.

Senior Luca Troop competed in the long jump for the Knights at the Open. Troop finished in 21st place by recording a distance of 19 feet-5.5 inches for the long jump.

Westbrook’s 4x100 relay team of senior Zachary Boardman, sophomore Brandon Naccarato, senior Brenden Engles, and Troop came in 24th place. The Knights’ 4x100 posted a time of 45.73 seconds in its 24th-place performance at the Open.
