The Old Saybrook girls’ lacrosse team played two games and took home victories in both to improve to 4-0 on the year.
On April 20, Old Saybrook hosted Cromwell and claimed a lopsided 21-2 victory over the Panthers.
Lily Cody stuffed the net with six goals to go with a pair of assists. Gilly Hartt had five goals and two assists. Chelsea Heinke notched four goals and an assist, while Grace Adams and Molly Henderson provided three goals and an assist each. Laura Day, Maddy Beaudoin, and Sophia Gormley each supplied an assist.
Two days later, the Rams earned a 17-13 road win over Haddam-Killingworth.
Boys’ Lacrosse
The Rams played two games as part of last week’s action and came away with a split of the pair to move to 1-2 on the season.
On April 20, the Rams claimed a 13-8 road game against Cromwell. Two days later, Old Saybrook lost a 14-2 home game against Haddam-Killingworth.
Boys’ Golf
The Old Saybrook golf team claimed its first win of the season last week amid a slate of three matches. The Rams’ record moved to 1-3 on the season.
On April 19, Old Saybrook took a 185-212 road loss against Morgan at the Clinton Country Club.
Garret Brady was Old Saybrook’s low-man with a score of 40, while Drew Kulmann notched a score of 47. Guiseppe Sinibaldo tallied 55 strokes, and Rylan Murphy scored a 66.
The next day, Old Saybrook lost a 216-220 road match against Valley Regional at Black Hall Golf Club. Brady was a co-medalist with a score of 46, while Murphy and Kulmann each marked 56 strokes. Jacob Speed tallied a 62.
On April 22, the Rams claimed a 194-226 home victory over Haddam- Killingworth at Fenwick Golf Course. Kulmann medalled with a score of 46, and Brady tallied 47 strokes. Jacob Speed was just had a score of 48, and Murphy marked down a 53. Sinibaldo turned in a 66.
Softball
Old Saybrook played three games last week and came away with a win and two losses to move to 2-3 on the season.
On April 19, the Rams lost 12-0 home game against Coginchaug. The Blue Devils put two runs across the plate in the top of the first inning. Coginchaug added to their tally en route to the 12-0 victory.
On April 23, The Rams took an 8-0 road loss against Morgan. The Huskies scored two runs in the first, four in the fourth, and two more in the sixth.
The next day, Old Saybrook won against Westbrook by forfeit.
Baseball
The Rams had three games on last week’s slate and took losses in all of them to fall to 3-4 on the year.
On April 19, the Rams took a 4-0 road loss against Coginchaug. The Blue Devils had a two-run bottom of the first inning, and scored two more in the bottom of the sixth.
On April 23, the Rams dropped a 13-6 road contest against North Branford. The next day, Old Saybrook lost a tight 5-4 home game against Morgan.
Girls’ Tennis
Old Saybrook contested three matches last week and earned its first win of the season to move its record to 1-5.
On April 19, Old Saybrook lost a 5-2 home match against Morgan. Three days later, the Rams claimed a 4-3 road victory against Haddam-Killingworth.
On April 23, Old Saybrook took a 6-1 road loss against Cromwell.
Boys’ Tennis
The Rams had two matches scheduled last week and lost both of them to fall to 0-5 on the season.
On April 19, the Rams headed to Clinton to take on Morgan and lost a 5-2 match. Old Saybrook’s wins came from Daniel Steindl (6-0, 6-2) in the No. 5 singles position, and the No. 1 doubles pairing of Peter Wisalowski and Jack Forest (6-1, 6-0).
Two days later, Old Saybrook lost a 4-3 home match against Haddam-Killingworth.
On April 23, the Rams lost a 5-2 home match against Cromwell.
