Valley Lacrosse Squads Grab First Wins; Tennis Teams Continue Early Success


Boys’ Lacrosse

The Valley Regional boys’ lacrosse squad continued its strong start to the season with a win last week. With the victory, the Warriors’ record improved to 2-0 on the season.

On April 13, Valley hosted Cromwell and picked up its second win of the campaign against the Panthers in a 14-1 home victory.

Girls’ Lacrosse

The Warriors played their first game of the 2021 season last week and also picked up their first victory, as well. Valley’s record stood at 1-0 after last week’s action.

On April 13, the Warriors headed to Cromwell to take on the Panthers. Valley defeated Cromwell by a score of 13-8.

Boys’ Tennis

The Valley boys’ tennis team had a pair of matches last week and earned victories in both. The Warriors’ record improved to 3-0 on the season.

On April 14, Valley headed to Old Saybrook to face off with the Rams. The Warriors secured a dominant 7-0 victory against Old Saybrook to move to 2-0 on the year.

Three days later, Valley hosted Morgan and grabbed another decisive 7-0 win in that match. The Warriors moved to 3-0 on the year with the match sweep.

Girls’ Tennis

The Warriors had two contests on the slate last week and the Warriors picked up wins in both matches. Valley’s record on the young season improved to 3-0 as a result of the victories.

On April 14, the Warriors played host to Old Saybrook, and they claimed a 7-0 victory over the Rams in the match.

On April 17, Valley headed to Clinton to go up against Morgan. The two teams played a close match, but the Warriors were ultimately triumphant with a 4-3 win over the Huskies.

Softball

The Warriors played just one game last week as a couple of games were postponed due to rain. Valley took a loss in the lone contest of the week, and the Warriors’ record fell to 0-2 on the season.

On April 12, Valley headed to Clinton to face off with The Morgan School. The Warriors lost to the Huskies by a score of 14-2.
