H-K Softball Earns Win Versus Cromwell in Opener; Tennis Teams Take Defeats

Softball

The Haddam-Killingworth softball team kicked off its season by earning a win versus Cromwell last week. On April 10, the Cougars hosted Cromwell and edged out the Panthers by the final score of 5-4.

Freshman pitcher Bella Richwine tossed four scoreless innings with five strikeouts for H-K in the win. Junior catcher Madison LaTouche went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Junior center fielder Audrey Snyder was also 1-for-3 to go with a run scored for Head Coach Jeff Talbott’s club.

Girls’ Tennis

The H-K girls’ tennis team was on the road to face Portland for its first match of the 2021 campaign. The Cougars dropped a 4-3 decision versus the Highlanders on April 10.

Boys’ Tennis

The Cougars’ boys’ tennis squad opened its season by hosting Portland April 10. H-K lost to Portland by a 4-3 score in the matchup.
