03/28/2021 12:00 AMSophomore Ella Esposito took fifth place in the all-around when she represented Guilford gymnastics by competing as a team-of-one at the SCC Virtual Championship last week.
The five teams in the SCC competed separately during the week in order to form the standings for the championship. Esposito, who trains with the Hand gymnastics team, competed alongside the Tigers when they turned in their performances at ABC Gymnastics on March 25.
Esposito posted an overall score of 32.95 points on her way to placing fifth in the all-around at SCCs. Esposito finished fourth on the balance beam with a score of 8.7, took fifth on the floor exercise with a score of 8.65, and also finished tied for sixth on vault by scoring an 8.2 to highlight her showing at the SCC meet. Esposito earned a spot on the All-SCC Team by virtue of her performance.
Law finished in first place for the SCC Championship by scoring 135.15 points as a team. Hand came in second place with a total of 130.95 points scored.
