Rams’ Boys’ Cross Country Claims 5th in Shorelines; Girls Post Impressive Marks

Boys’ Cross Country

The Old Saybrook boys’ cross country team took part in the Shoreline Conference Championship at Totoket in North Branford on Nov. 5 and 6. The Rams claimed fifth place as a team at the meet thanks to strong performances from several runners.

Jacob Schneider took eighth place in the meet with a time of 17 minutes and 35 seconds. Jack Wiley earned 12th place with a time of 17:47, while Kyle Wisalowski came in 38th place, clocking in at 19:42. Nate Taylor turned in a time of 19:56 for 40th place, and Zach Nichols finished in 42nd at a time of 20:11. Logan Worman took 46th place with a time 20:24, and Andrew Julius finished in 48th clocking in at 20:31.

Girls’ Cross Country

The Rams saw a handful of athletes compete at the Shoreline Conference Championship Meet at Totoket Park in North Branford on Nov. 5 and 6. While Old Saybrook had some impressive times among its competitors, it didn’t have enough of them to earn marks as a team.

Caitlyn Wiley claimed fourth place with a time of 22:04, and Catherine Minegar was hot on her heels with a time of 22:06 for fifth place. Carlina Castro ended up with ninth place finishing with a time of 22:42, and Lia Franciszkiewicz came in 61st place with a time of 38:17.

Girls’ Soccer

The Old Saybrook girls’ soccer squad played three games last week and came away with a win, a loss and a tie for outcomes on the slate. With these results, the Rams’ record shifted to 3-5-2 on the season.

On Nov. 2, Old Saybrook hosted Coginchaug and took a 5-1 loss against the Blue Devils. Two days later, the Rams claimed a 3-1 road victory versus North Branford. On Nov. 5, Old Saybrook had a home contest against Cromwell and the two teams played to a 1-1 draw.
