North Haven Teams Nearing the End of the Season

Boys’ Soccer

The North Haven boys’ soccer team finished its regular season by playing three home games last week. North Haven came away with a win and two losses and to put its regular-season record at 4-4-1 on the year.

North Haven took a 7-0 home loss to West Haven on Nov. 3. Then on Nov. 6, Head Coach Reid Chieffo’s team hosted Whitney Tech and claimed a 7-0 victory at North Haven Middle School. The day after that, North Haven dropped a 10-2 decision against Daniel Hand in another home game.

North Haven is the No. 3 seed in the SCC Division A Tournament and is scheduled to play at No. 2 Cheshire in the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 12. With a win, North Haven would advance to the final on Saturday, Nov. 14.

Field Hockey

The North Haven field hockey team squared off against Hamden in the first round in the SCC Division B Tournament on Nov. 7. No. 5 seed North Haven took a 4-1 loss versus No. 4 seed Hamden to finish with a record of 1-7 on the year.

Girls’ Volleyball

The North Haven girls’ volleyball team faced East Haven in a road match in its regular-season finale on Nov. 7. North Haven took a 3-1 defeat to finish at 4-5.

East Haven took the match over North Haven with set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-20, and 25-15. Senior Alex Ferriouolo had 25 digs with two kills and three aces for North Haven in the match. Junior Hannah Auddino recorded 21 assists and had three aces, while sophomore Emma Liedke recorded 11 kills.

North Haven is the No. 3 seed in the SCC Division B Tournament. No. 3 seed North Haven was slated to play No. 6 Sacred Heart Academy in the first round on Nov. 9 (after press time). With a win, North Haven would advance to the final to play No. 2 seed Lyman Hall on Nov. 11 (after press time). The final takes place on Friday, Nov. 13.
