ACEing Autism Holding Tennis Clinics This Fall

The ACEing Autism program is holding a six-week session of tennis clinics every Saturday starting on Nov. 7. ACEing Autism is a national non-profit organization that provides children on the autism spectrum with a chance to learn the fundamentals of tennis while socializing with their peers. The program features more than 70 locations throughout the United States, including a Connecticut chapter that is run by North Haven High School girls’ tennis Head Coach Bob Migliorini, his wife Maureen Fay Migliorini, and his daughter Alyssa Migliorini, who played tennis at North Haven.

This fall, the Connecticut chapter of ACEing Autism is holding a six-week clinic that will take place on Saturdays from Nov. 7 through Dec. 19, with the exception of Nov. 28 on Thanksgiving weekend. All six sessions will be held indoors at the North Haven Health & Racquet Club. Each day, there will be a clinic for kids aged 5 to 13 from 11 a.m. to noon and a clinic for kids aged 14 and older from noon to 1 p.m. Each participant is paired up a volunteer based on his or her individual needs. The cost to participate is $90 for the entire six-week session or $15 per individual session, although there are scholarship opportunities available to people in need of financial assistance.
