H-K Girls’ Soccer Wins Big Against Westbrook; Volleyball Sweeps East Hampton

Girls’ Soccer

The Haddam-Killingworth girls’ soccer team hosted Westbrook for a Shoreline Conference matchup on Oct. 22. H-K won the game by in convincing fashion by defeating Knights 7-2 to improve to 5-0 this season.

H-K scored the first three goals of the game and held a 4-1 halftime advantage on its way to upending Westbrook. Senior Morgan Madore, senior Kedarjah Lewis, and sophomore Julia Favalora all scored two goals for H-K, while junior Yumi Imai added a goal in the win. Lewis, Imai, and junior Hadley Commerford contributed two assists apiece for Head Coach Mike Shea’s club. Senior goalie Kelsey Lonergan made one save in net for H-K.

Boys’ Soccer

The H-K boys’ soccer squad split a pair of recent matchups and now has a record of 3-2-2 on the year. The Cougars lost to East Hampton before defeating Westbrook last week.

On Oct. 19, H-K hit the road to face East Hampton and dropped a 6-4 decision. Then on Oct. 23, the Cougars played a road game versus Westbrook and blanked the Knights by a 1-0 score.

Girls’ Volleyball

The H-K girls’ volleyball squad improved to 6-0 by winning its lone contest on last week’s slate. On Oct. 20, the Cougars played a road match versus East Hampton and swept the Bellringers by a 3-0 final.

Field Hockey

The H-K field hockey team moved to 0-6 on the season after taking two defeats last week.

The Cougars took a 7-0 road loss against Morgan on Oct. 20. Two days later, H-K played a road game versus Valley Regional and lost by a 5-0 score.
