North Haven Goes 1-1 in Double Dip


The North Haven fall baseball team moved to 4-7 on the season after splitting a doubleheader with The Boys of Summer on Oct. 9. North Haven took a 12-3 loss in the first game before bouncing back with an 8-1 victory in the second contest of the set.

North Haven fell behind the Boys of Summer early in the first game and was never able to catch up. Antonio Fusco went 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored for North Haven. Daniel Boudreau went 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI, while Nicholas Judd was also 1-for-2 with an RBI.

In the second game, Ryan Bauman and Tyler Harger both turned in solid performances on the mound to lead North Haven to an 8-1 victory. Bauman got the start and the win by allowing just one unearned run in 4.2 innings of work. Harger pitched scoreless ball over the final 2.1 innings to close it out.

North Haven scored three runs in the fourth inning and five more in the fifth on its way to the win. Spencer Mulligan had a big day at the dish by going 4-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base for North Haven. Anthony Maggiore went 2-for-3 with triple, a run, two RBI, and a stolen base, while Signore was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Harger went 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI, Andrew Barbara was 1-for-2 with an RBI, Mikey Brandt went 1-for-4 with a run and a stolen base, and Boudreau had a walk with a steal and two runs scored in the victory.
