H-K Girls’ Volleyball Off to Stellar Start; Girls’ Soccer Posts Pair of Shutouts


Girls’ Volleyball

The Haddam-Killingworth girls’ volleyball team has stormed out to a 3-0 start to its season. The Cougars earned wins versus Morgan, North Branford, and Hale-Ray during their first week of play.

H-K claimed a 3-0 road win over Morgan in its season opener on Oct. 2. Then on Oct. 6, the Cougars were on the road to play North Branford and prevailed by a 3-0 score. Two days later, H-K notched a 3-1 road victory against Hale-Ray to improve to 3-0 on the year.

Girls’ Soccer

H-K improved to 3-0 by recording a pair of shutouts last week. The Cougars blanked both Old Saybrook and North Branford to stay undefeated on the season.

H-K kicked off its week by claiming a 3-0 home victory over Old Saybrook on Oct. 6. Three days later, the Cougars defeated North Branford by the final score of 5-0 on the road.

Boys’ Soccer

H-K gained a split of two recent games and is now 2-1 this fall. H-K lost to Old Saybrook and then came back to defeat North Branford last week.

The Cougars took a 2-0 defeat at Old Saybrook on Oct. 5. Then on Oct. 8, H-K hosted North Branford and defeated the T-Birds by the final score of 7-0.

Field Hockey

The Cougars two contests last week to move to 0-3 this year.

On Oct. 6, H-K hosted Valley Regional and took a 6-0 loss. Two days later, the Cougars played a road game against Old Saybrook and were defeated by a 9-0 score.
