Morgan Field Hockey Begins with a Win; Soccer Squads Take Losses

Field Hockey

The Morgan field hockey squad matched up with Haddam-Killingworth this week for the first contest of the season. On Oct. 1, The Huskies claimed a 6-0 win over the Cougars and moved to 1-0 on season.

Alex Wolf scored four goals and notched two assists as well. Nori Lopez added two goals and one assist, while Maggie O’Donnell had two assists. Abby Gordon made two saves in the cage for the Huskies.

Boys’ Soccer

The Huskies took the pitch for the first time this season in a road game versus Old Lyme. Morgan took a 3-1 loss against the Wildcats on Oct. 1 and moved to 0-1 on the season.

Girls’ Soccer

Morgan opened the season with a home game versus Old Lyme at the Indian River complex and came away with a close loss. On Oct. 2, the Huskies took a 2-0 defeat to the Wildcats in a hard fought contest to move to 0-1 on the season.

The game remained scoreless through the first half, and both of Old Lyme’s goals came in the second half. Morgan took five shots on goal while the Wildcats ended up nine shots.
