The Westbrook field hockey team played its first matchup of the season with a contest against Old Saybrook on Oct. 2. The Knights took a 4-0 loss versus the Rams and are 0-1 on the year. Goalie Lauren Horne made 11 saves in the loss

The Knights took the field for the first time this season, and had a rough start. Westbrook’s first game pitted them against Coginchaug on Oct. 2. The Knights lost to the Blue Devils by a score of 12-0 and begin the year with an 0-1 record.
Coginchaug unleashed 30 shots on goal against Westbrook, and goalkeeper Alexandra Zanzalari made 18 saves for the Knights in the contest.
