The 33rd annual Branford Sports Hall of Fame dinner, which was scheduled for Friday, Nov. 20, has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hall of Fame dinner has been a popular event in town every year since it started in 1988. Through the years, 296 residents have been honored, and the dinner has averaged between 300 to 400 attendees each year.

“Like so many other town activities, COVID has sadly caused us to cancel this year’s dinner,” Branford Sports Hall of Fame Chairman Bill O’Brien said. “We are planning to be back in 2021 and will honor more outstanding individuals that have brought honor and distinction to Branford over the years.”
