Madison’s Baseball Teams Play Deeper into Season

U-19 Baseball

The Madison U-19 baseball squad had a busy week by playing six games versus Division II opponents in the Connecticut Elite Baseball Association. Madison came away from the stretch with two victories to put its record at 10-3 on the summer season. After sweeping a doubleheader from Branford, Madison took two losses to Orange and then lost two contests against Hamden last week.

Madison kicked off the week by taking both of ends of a doubleheader with Branford at Town Campus Field on July 18. Madison earned a 1-0 win in the first game and then edged out Branford by a 4-3 score in the nightcap.

The next day, Madison hosted Orange and lost the game by a 3-0 score at Town Campus Field. Two days later, Madison faced Orange on the road and dropped a 2-1 decision at Brinley Field.

Then on July 22, Madison started off a two-game series against Hamden by taking a 7-0 road loss at Legion Field. The day after that, Madison played a home game versus Hamden and was edged out by a 1-0 score at Town Campus Field.

U-17 Baseball

The Madison U-17 baseball team lost three of its four games in the Connecticut Elite Baseball Association last week to move to 5-7 on the campaign. Madison took a loss to Branford, lost two games against Wallingford, and then came back to defeat Wallingford to finish off the week.

On July 19, Madison dropped a 5-1 decision to Branford in a Division II matchup at Branford High School. Two days later, Madison opened up a three-games series with divisional opponent Wallingford by taking an 8-2 home loss at Town Campus Field. The next day, Madison lost to Wallingford by an 11-2 score in a road game at West Side Field. The day after that, Madison hosted Wallingford and claimed a 5-2 victory at Polson Middle School.
