East Haven Hockey Loses in Conference Semis


The East Haven co-op boys’ ice hockey squad took a loss to Branford in the semifinals of the SCC/SWC Division II Tournament last week. On March 5, the 4th-seeded Yellowjackets faced off against No. 1 seed Branford in the conference semis and lost by a 7-0 score at Bennett Rink. East Haven has an overall record of 8-13 as the team opens play in the Division II State Tournament this week.

East Haven is the No. 14 seed in states and will begin the draw by playing a first-round game at No. 3 Farmington Valley at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 9. With a win, the Yellowjackets would play the winner of No. 6 Woodstock Academy and No. 11 Lyman Hall/Haddam-Killingworth/Coginchaug in the quarterfinals on Friday, March 13. The semifinals are at Ingalls Rink on Tuesday, March 17 and the Division II state final will take place at Ingalls Rink at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 23.
