01/09/2020 11:00 PMThe Hamden Heronettes synchronized swimming team is proud to announce that North Haven resident Samantha Lewandoski has been named the organization’s Swimmer of the Month for January. The award, which is presented monthly throughout the competitive season, honors a swimmer who brings a positive attitude to practice, is a supportive role model for others, and who displays outstanding character, work ethic, and sportsmanship. Lewandoski, a 5th-grade student, is in her third year as a competitive synchronized swimmer and is a member of the Heronettes’ intermediate team. Lewandoski’s coaches describe her as a positive model who has a can-do attitude, saying that she’s always supporting her teammates, in addition to working hard to improve her own skills in the water. Lewandoski is working on a routine with her team and is also working on her own individual routine.
