H-K Ice Hockey Notches a Win and a Tie; Hoops Squads Pick Up Victories

Boys’ Ice Hockey

The Lyman Hall/Haddam-Killingworth/Coginchaug (LH/H-K/C) boys’ ice hockey team earned a win and a tie in its last four matchups. The Trojans have a record of 1-3-1 on the year.

On Dec. 21, LH/H-K/C hosted Cheshire and took a 3-2 loss at Northford Ice Pavilion. Then on Dec. 28, the Trojans battled Sheehan to a 5-5 draw in a home game.

Two days later, LH/H-K/C defeated Branford by a 4-2 score at Northford Ice Pavilion. On Jan. 4, the squad dropped a 5-2 decision to Westhill-Stamford at Terry Conners Ice Rink.

Boys’ Basketball

H-K has a record of 1-2 through the first two weeks of its season.

H-K started off the campaign by taking a 59-58 home loss to Portland on Dec. 19. The Cougars notched their first win when they edged out Oxford by a 68-67 score in a road game on Dec. 23. On Jan. 2, H-K took a 67-52 road loss against Morgan.

Girls’ Basketball

The Cougars moved to 2-3 after picking up one win in four recent games.

H-K posted a 49-25 victory at Westbrook on Dec. 20. Then on Dec. 26, the Cougars took a 64-35 road loss to Bacon Academy.

On Jan. 2, H-K hosted Morgan and lost by the final score of 44-40. The Cougars then took a 52-18 loss versus East Hampton in a home game on Jan. 4.
