Members of the Guilford High School boys’ basketball squad formed a team that competed in summer and fall leagues this year. Guilford had a great campaign in each season by winning the championship in both leagues.

First, Guilford claimed its second-straight title in the summer league that was held at the Hopkins School in New Haven. Recently, the team took the title in its fall league by defeating Branford 45-42 in the championship game at the Farnam Neighborhood House in New Haven.

The players on Guilford’s summer and fall teams included senior captain guard John Petonito, senior guard/forward Brayden Santa Barbara, and guard Chris Cahill, who recently transferred from Hamden Hall. Also competing for Guilford were junior center Jackson Tandler, junior guard/forward Jack Stanton, junior guard Jake Ciocca, and junior forward Thomas Hinding.

The team was coached by Jim Petonito and Paul Santa Barbara.
