A group of eight dancers who train at The Dancer’s Studio in Northford will be representing the United States at the World Tap Dance Championships in Riesa, Germany this month. The girls will be joining dancers from Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey when they compete at the event. The United States is permitted to send just three routines in each category and age division to the championships, and so it is an honor and an accomplishment for these dancers to be selected.

The World Tap Dance Championship will be held in elimination rounds that will culminate with the top six advancing to the finals. After the final performances, the gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded, and the national anthem from the gold medal winning country will play as the flags are raised.

Juliana Montgomery and Karissa Fryar from Guilford will be competing in the duo, trio group, and formation categories at the championships. Paige Rossicone and Taylor Levine from North Branford and Piper Forbush of Durham will compete in the duo, group, and formation categories. Scotland Forbush from Durham are competing in the trio, group, and formation categories. Nicole Evans of Branford and Stacey Richetelli of West Haven will compete in the formation category. In addition to training at The Dancer’s Studio each week, these girls have also been traveling to New York for rehearsals since January.
