The East Haven-Wilbur Cross co-op swim squad finished its regular season by notching a 99-71 victory against West Haven in a home meet on Oct. 28. The Yellowjackets completed the regular season with a record of 2-9.

Prior to the meet, the Yellowjackets honored seniors Alaiana Robert, Becca Flynn, Syreena Melendez, and Juliette Ranelli, along with junior Angelica Blaze, who is moving out of town and won’t be with the team next season. Following the ceremony, Head Coach Leanne Boisvert’s team went out and defeated the Blue Devils to get their second win of the year.

“Throughout the season, our team has had many close meets, and we have pushed ourselves to be better than we were the day before,” Coach Boisvert said. “Looking at our team from the first meet to the last, I can proudly say that my girls pushed themselves to greatness, and it paid off in the end.”

The Yellowjackets are competing at the SCC Championship this week. The team also has three qualifiers so far for the upcoming Class LL State Championship.
