Senior Max Augustine highlighted another prolific night on the ground for North Haven by rushing for 130 yards and three touchdowns on just 10 carries in the win. Seniors Justin White, Jaden Watson, and Albert Hooks all added touchdown runs to help the Indians prevail. Watson also picked off a pair of passes on defense on a night that saw North Haven force Pomperaug (1-5) into committing four turnovers.

Hooks broke off a 29-yard touchdown run to give the Indians a 27-0 lead with five minutes remaining in the second quarter. North Haven’s offense continued to pile on the points as Augustine scampered 57 yards to the house for another touchdown run with 2:51 to go. DiCarlo kicked his third-straight PAT to put the Indians up 34-0 at intermission.

Just 13 seconds into the third quarter, White ran for a 55-yard touchdown on his only carry of the game. DiCarlo’s fifth extra point of the evening gave North Haven a 41-0 cushion.

In addition to Augustine’s 130-yard, three-TD performance, Watson ran five times for 46 yards and a score, while Hooks had 48 yards and a touchdown on three carries. Hooks also caught a 63-yard pass from his brother, fellow senior Corey Hooks.

Along with his two interceptions, Watson also had a pair of pass deflections on defense. Senior Joe Urtel had three pass deflections for the Indians. Albert Hooks forced a fumble and recovered a fumble, and senior Dominic Borrelli also scooped up a fumble. Senior Kyle Maruca recorded a sack for North Haven. Junior Patrick Lillis made eight tackles to lead the team in that department on the night.
