Westbrook Field Hockey Posts Two More Victories; Boys’ Soccer Picks Up a Win

Field Hockey

The Westbrook field hockey team secured two more wins last week in games against Haddam- Killingworth and Stafford. The two victories moved the Knights’ overall record to 10-1-1 on the season.

On Oct. 15, Westbrook picked up a 4-0 road win against Haddam-Killingworth.

Three days later, the Knights headed to Stafford where they earned a narrow 1-0 victory.

Westbrook had Stafford under siege with 14 shots on goal with Delaney Belcourt scoring off an assist from Lexi Koplas. Lauren Horne made one save in net for Westbrook.

Boys’ Soccer

The Knights played three games last week and took home one win on the slate. With these results, Westbrook’s overall record moved to 3-8-1 on the season.

On Oct. 15, the Knights lost a 2-0 road contest against Haddam-Killingworth. Two days later, Westbrook earned a 10-0 blowout win at home versus North Branford. On Oct. 19, the Knights lost a 4-1 home decision against Hale-Ray.

Girls’ Soccer

Westbrook played a pair matches last week and lost both them. The defeats dropped the Knights’ record to 3-9 on the season.

On Oct. 15, Westbrook hosted Haddam-Killingworth and took a 5-0 defeat against the Cougars. Four days later, the Knights headed to North Branford, where they lost a 4-0 decision versus the Thunderbirds.

Girls’ Cross Country

Elizabeth Gallagher competed on behalf of Westbrook at the Shoreline Conference Championship meet at Cromwell High School on Oct. 18. Gallagher came in 59th place with a time of 24:46.
