North Haven Fall Ball Loses Game to the Hurricanes


The North Haven baseball team traveled to Norwich to play the Connecticut Hurricanes at Dodd Stadium on Oct. 6. North Haven took a 5-4 defeat against the Hurricanes to move to 3-5-1 on the season.

North Haven and the Hurricanes played a scheduled nine-inning game. With the score tied 3-3, North Haven plated a run in the top of the seventh inning to take a 4-3 lead. However, the Hurricanes rallied for two runs in the bottom half of the frame and then hung on for the 5-4 victory.

Anthony Acampora went 3-for-3 with a walk and two RBI to pace the North Haven offense. Ryan Balzano went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI, while Devin Santiago was 2-for-5 with a run and a double. Shaun Murray and Santiago each pitched two scoreless innings of relief for North Haven.
