On Aug. 6, members of the North Haven High School football team presented a check with the proceeds from the Indians’ 2019 Spring Brawl fundraiser to Zak Radziunas. This year’s Spring Brawl raised a total of $11,600 that was donated to Radziunas, a 15 year-old North Haven resident who has an extremely rare form of leukemia. The 15th annual Spring Brawl was organized by the incoming seniors on the North Haven football team and took place at Vanacore Field on June 21. Radziunas attended the event with his father Gregg and his sister Lexi. The Spring Brawl featured an intra-squad scrimmage between the athletes on Head Coach Anthony Sagnella’s squad. Team White recorded a 20-12 victory versus Team Maroon in the game. In the nine years that the Spring Brawl has served as a fundraiser, it has generated approximately $85,600 to support local people and organizations in need.
