07/28/2019 12:00 AMThe North Haven High School Athletic Department is excited to announce the appointment of Tom Blake as the new head coach for the varsity girls’ basketball team. Blake’s experience as a basketball coach spans more than 35 years at the high school and collegiate levels. After beginning his coaching career at Cheshire Academy, Blake transformed a team that had only won three games into a championship-caliber program that appeared in the New England Class B championship game. Upon leaving Cheshire Academy, Blake coached at several colleges throughout the Northeast, including coaching for both the men’s and women’s teams at Quinnipiac University. In addition to Cheshire Academy, Blake has coached at the high school level, including a six-year stint at Law.
“Coach Blake brings a wealth of coaching experience and knowledge about basketball to the North Haven girls’ basketball program,” said Athletic Director Steve Blumenthal. “We are excited to put together a very talented group of student-athletes who are willing to work hard to develop their skills with a coach that has the experience and drive to develop players. We look forward to Coach Blake getting started.”
