Post 79 Seniors Take Four of Five; Juniors Improve to 12-4

Senior Legion Baseball

The Madison Senior American Legion baseball team improved to 7-12 after picking up four wins in five contests last week.

Madison first won a 10-9 slugfest over East Haven on June 30. Post 79 then blanked Branford by 9-0 score on July 1, before earning a 5-2 triumph versus Branford the following day. Post 79 finished the week by splitting a doubleheader with New Haven on July 6. Madison took a 5-4 loss in the first game and then bounced back with a 14-1 victory in the nightcap.

Junior Legion Baseball

The Post 79 Juniors have a record of 12-4 and are in second place in the Zone 2 standings after notching a pair of recent victories.

Madison took down West Haven by the final tally of 9-5 on July 1. The following day, Post 79 claimed a 5-1 win versus Branford.
