Madison Junior Legion Takes Two of Three from Wallingford; Seniors Edged by Wallingford

Junior Legion Baseball

The Madison Junior American Legion baseball team lost a close contest to Orange last week and then took two of three in a three-game set with Naugatuck. Post 79 now stands with a record of 8-4 in Zone 2 action on the year.

Madison dropped a 4-3 home decision versus Orange on June 23. Two days after that, Post 79 prevailed by a 4-3 score against Naugatuck on the road. Madison then hosted Naugatuck at Daniel Hand High School on June 26 and lost a 6-3 contest. In the final game of the series, Post 79, recorded a 9-2 blowout over Naugatuck in a home game at Town Campus.

Senior Legion Baseball

The Post 79 Seniors took a few recent defeats to move to 1-10 in Zone 2 play this season. Madison lost a game against Orange and was swept by Wallingford in a three-game series last week.

On June 23, Madison took an 8-0 road loss versus Orange at Brinley Field. Two days later, Post 79 was edged out by Wallingford by a 3-2 final in a road game at Westside Field. Then on June 26, Madison hosted Wallingford at Town Campus and took an 18-1 defeat. The day after that, Madison finished its three-game set with Wallingford by dropping an 8-5 decision in a road matchup at Pat Wall Field.
