The Guilford baseball team won its lone matchup of the week to extend its winning streak to four straight games. The Indians have an overall record 5-5 and are 2-1 in the SCC Housatonic Division.

The Indians earned their fourth straight win with an 8-1 divisional victory over Cross on April 23. Jack Strand threw a complete game in which he allowed just one run on three hits for Guilford. Ethan Vashel had two hits and three RBI, while Ben Panagoulias added a hit with two RBI in the victory.

“Jack pitched great today, and our defense behind him was exceptional. Ethan and [Jake Ciocca] made great plays up the middle, and Josh Wettemann had a huge pickoff to end an inning,” Head Coach Brian Hayden said. “Offensively, we had a patient approach at the plate, and it paid off. Ethan had a huge swing to drive in two runs, and we were able to relax after that and play our game. This was a total team win.”
