“This was a great meet for us and our highest score so far this year. It’s great to finally get a win under our belts to help our confidence,” said Head Coach Kelly Smith. “This was a meet where we had almost all of our top kids in together, and our score showed that and showed our potential. We should be scoring in the mid to high 120s and, moving forward, that’s where we hope to be. Win-loss record is not important in gymnastics, but our score average is. The more team scores we can get like tonight’s, the better position we will be in for SCCs and states next month.”

On Jan. 24, Hand hosted another multi-team meet at the Polson Gym. The Tigers totaled 128.2 points to defeat Valley Regional (121.5) and Haddam-Killingworth (66.6), and take a loss against Mercy (131.4). Rogers finished with an all-around total of 33.3 that featured a score of 9.0 on the floor, marking the first 9 on an event for a Hand gymnast this year.
