Morgan’s Basketball Squads Drop Contests

Girls’ Basketball

The Morgan girls’ basketball team took a 45-17 defeat against Shoreline Conference opponent East Hampton on Dec. 22. The loss moved the Huskies’ record to 3-2 this season.

Morgan headed to East Hampton to face the undefeated Bellringers in a recent matchup. The Huskies trailed East Hampton 12-8 after the first quarter. East Hampton then used a big second quarter to increase its lead to 28-10 at halftime. The Bellringers carried their momentum into the second half and finished the night with the 45-17 victory.

Sophomore Caitlyn Donadio had six points, five rebounds, two blocks, and six steals for Morgan in the loss. Senior Joelle Vuilleumier grabbed nine rebounds for the Huskies. Junior Leah McComiskey contributed six rebounds and two steals, while senior Kylee Clifton had three rebounds with three steals.

Boys’ Basketball

The Huskies squared off against Platt as part of the Fred Kelly Holiday Tournament at North Haven High School on Dec. 27. Morgan lost a close contest by taking a 57-54 defeat against the Panthers in the tournament. The Huskies are now 2-2 on the year.
