North Haven High School girls’ tennis player Julia Migliorini recently signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her career at the collegiate level. Migliorini, a senior, will compete for the women’s tennis team at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island beginning in the fall of 2019. Providence College is a Division I school that plays in the Big East Conference. Migliorini, who plans to major in biology, signed her Letter of Intent during a ceremony at North Haven High School on Nov. 14.

Migliorini has a cumulative varsity record of 74-4 playing No. 1 singles for North Haven during the past three years. Only her four defeats, only one of them has occurred in regular-season play; the other three were in the State Open Tournament. Migliorini was named the Southern Connecticut Conference Player of the Year in each of her first three seasons. She also made the New Haven Register All-Area Team all three years and was selected as the Register’s All-Area Most Valuable Player in 2017 and 2018. Migliorini is a three-time All-State team member and reached the quarterfinal round of the State Open Tournament in her sophomore and junior seasons. She’s also ranked in the top 20 for the United States Tennis Association New England girls’ 18-and-under division. Migliorini served as a co-captain for North Haven as a junior and will reprise that role in her senior season next spring.
