North Branford Football Takes 35-32 Defeat Versus Morgan; Field Hockey Loses to Westbrook

Football

The North Branford football team was on the road to face Pequot Conference opponent Morgan last week. The Thunderbirds took a 35-32 defeat against the Huskies at the Peters Complex in Clinton on Sept. 29. It was a back-and-forth game that saw Morgan take the lead for good on a short touchdown pass with less than three minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Thunderbirds, who dropped to 1-3 on the season, have a home game against Lewis Mills at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5.

Field Hockey

The Thunderbirds played one game last week when they traveled to Westbrook on Sept. 27. North Branford took a 3-0 defeat against the Knights. With the loss, North Branford now has a record of 4-1-0-1 for the year.

Volleyball

North Branford took a pair of defeats at home last week and is now 1-8 this season. North Branford played host to Haddam-Killingworth on Sept. 26 and lost a 3-0 decision. Two days later, the T-Birds lost against Hale-Ray by that same 3-0 final.

Boys’ Soccer

North Branford lost three contests last week to move to 0-7 on the season. The Thunderbirds took a 9-0 loss at Coginchaug on Sept. 24, dropped a 6-0 decision against East Hampton on Sept. 27, and then lost to Cromwell by a 6-0 score on Sept. 29.
