The Shoreline Golf Society (SGS) recently held is Club Championship and its Stableford Championship at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield.

The Club Championship is a 36-hole gross score event that was played on the Jones and Player Courses at Lyman Orchards. New SGS member Glenn Zavorskas of Madison did not let the one-hour storm delay interfere with his round. He shot a gross score of 158 to become the SGS’s club champion for 2018. Zavorskas was able to edge out defending champion and fellow Madison resident Scott Feldman by one stroke to take the title. Matt Fleming of North Branford and Branford resident Gerry Mann tied for third place with their rounds of 162.

Bruce Tischer of West Haven won the net Stableford Championship with a total 43 points. Tischer’s net eagle versus Essex resident Eric Lieberman’s net birdie enabled Tischer to clinch the win. The Stableford Championship is a 27-hole event that was held at Lyman Orchards’s Apple 9 and Jones Course. Due to the weather, it was contested as a 19-hole event this year.
