Cubs Move into First, Christensen Cruises Again During Week 14 of Deep River Horseshoe League

The Cubs overtook the Red Sox for first place in the standings following Week 14 play in the Deep River Horseshoe League. Meanwhile, the Dodgers have surged into a third-place tie with the Pirates and are now fourteen games over the .500 mark after being three games under .500 just one month ago.

In the A Division last week, Chris Christensen of the Dodgers notched the second highest score of the season by throwing a 158. Billy Beckwith of the Red Sox came in second place, while the Yankees’ Mike Zanelli, Sr., took third with a 128.

Paul Felie of the Angels led the way in the B Division with his score of 124. Ed Turner of the Marlins secured second place by tossing a 119. The Cardinals’ John Wilson placed third with score of 110.

For the C Division, the Yankees’ Howie Fisher took the top spot with a score of 97. Andy Konefal of the Angles threw for a score of 90, which was good for second place. The Dodgers’ Ken Fox came in third place with a score of 77.

In the league standings, the Cubs moved into first place last week with their record of 52.5-31.5. The Red Sox dropped into second place and are now 52-32 on the year. The Dodgers have climbed into third place with the Pirates as both clubs have a record of 49-35. The Orioles are now in fifth place with a record of 48-36.

Here is a look at the rest of the league’s standings: Yankees (46-38), Astros (45.5-38.5), Cardinals (45-39), Marlins (43-31), Mets (42-42), Tigers (41.5-42.5), Rangers (40.5-43.5), Braves (39-45), Angels (37.5-46.5), Indians (37-47), Padres (35.5-48.5), Giants (35-49), Reds (34.5-49.5), White Sox (34-50), and Royals (33.5-50.5).
