The Shoreline Cougars 18-U AAU baseball team played a couple of games in the East Shore Rusty Zoarski Wood Bat League last week. The Cougars took a pair of defeats by losing a 1-0 contest against the TCB Outlaws and dropping a 3-1 decision versus the Northern Connecticut Mustangs. Head Coach Dennis Annicelli’s club now has a record of 7-4 on the season.

On July 8, the Cougars matched up against the TCB Outlaws and took a 1-0 defeat at Haddam-Killingworth High School.

The next day, Shoreline headed to Mills Pond Park in Newington to take on the Northern Connecticut Mustangs and lost by a 3-1 final. The Cougars went up by a run in the first inning when Jonathan Civiello hit a double to left field and then came home on a base hit by Ross Meglin. In the sixth inning, the Cougars walked a couple of batters, and the Mustangs capitalized by hitting a three-run home run take a 3-1 lead that held up as the final score. Carmelo Rosa turned in a solid effort on the mound by throwing a complete game for Shoreline.
