07/15/2018 12:00 AMThere was some shuffling near the top of the standings following Week 13 of the Deep River Horseshoe League. The Red Sox continue to hold off the Cubs for first place, while the Orioles moved into third place after last week’s matchups.
In the A Division, the Mets’ Mark Goodale led the way with a score of 145, and Chip Goodrich of the White Sox threw a 130. Frank Jolly of the Royals was right behind in third place with a score of 129.
Robert Robinson of the Cubs was tops in the B Division with his score of 106. Nabbing second place was the Red Sox’s Dennis Allen with a score of 103. Ed Turner of the Marlins put forth a score of 90 for third place.
As for the C Division, the Cubs’ Tony Cutone came out on top with a score of 92. Gary Stevens of the Tigers finished second by throwing a 79, and Rich Glass of the Orioles earned the third-place score with 76.
In the league standings, the Red Sox are maintaining a half-game lead for first place with a record of 49.5-28.5. The Cubs still hold second place and are now 49-29 this year. The Orioles have climbed into third place with their record of 47-31, while the Pirates moved to fourth at 46-32. The Yankees have crept back into the top five with their record of 43.5-34.5.
