Five Easties Garner All-Conference Accolades

Five East Haven High School athletes who recently completed their spring seasons were presented with All-Southern Connecticut Conference honors based on their performances during the campaign.

Ryan Spano made the All-SCC Quinnipiac Division Team on behalf of the East Haven baseball squad. Spano was a senior for the Easties, who qualified for the Class L State Tournament and then defeated Law in their qualifying-round game.

Julia SanGiovanni earned a spot on the All-SCC First Team, while fellow senior captain Selena Mauro made the All-Conference Second Team for the East Haven softball team. The Yellowjackets won 14 games, including one each in both the SCC and Class M State tournaments this spring.

Molly Mazzucco made the All-SCC Second Team for the East Haven girls’ outdoor track squad. Mazzucco took second place in the high jump at the SCC Championship to earn All-Conference distinction in her senior year.

Senior Jenna Pane made the All-SCC Division II Singles Team by virtue of her performance as the No. 1 singles player for the Yellowjackets’ girls’ tennis squad. Pane capped off her high-school career by qualifying for the singles bracket at the State Open Tournament.
