East Haven Girls’ Hoops Hoists State Title Banner in Center
The banner that commemorates the Yellowjackets’ girls’ basketball team winning the Class M state title was proudly presented in the center of East Haven. The East Haven High School girls’ basketball team’s Class M state championship banner was displayed in the center of East Haven on Main Street and Thompson Avenue on April 24. The Yellowjackets earned their first state title in program history this winter by defeating Career 49-47 in the Class M State Tournament final at Mohegan Sun Arena when sophomore Isabella Ragaini hit a basket as time expired. Head Coach Anthony Russell’s squad finished the season with an overall record of 24-3. East Haven’s senior captains were Kylie Schlottman, Haley Montesanto, Olivia Coyle, Marley Herard, and Jessica Stettinger.
