Westbrook resident Anna Landino finished in first place for the 9 year-old division in the Knights of Columbus State Free Throw Contest final on April 8. Landino made 15 of her 25 free-throw attempts to seal her victory and earn the trophy. Landino is the daughter of Westbrook girls’ basketball Head Coach Kelly Landino and the younger sister of Savannah Marshall, a two-time All-State guard for the Knights who was a junior captain this winter and has scored 1,133 points in her career.

Coach Landino said that she and her family are proud of Anna’s steadfast commitment to both basketball and her hometown team.

“Anna continues to amaze us with her interest and dedication to basketball. Anna goes to every game, wears her Westbrook jersey, and dreams of playing basketball for her high school,” said Landino. “She has perfected her routine and refuses to shoot her free throws from the 9 year-old line. She shoots from the regular foul line, even though 9 [to] 11 year-olds can move up a foot.”
