Game On Flag Football League Ready to Get Going


The Trimino Game On Flag Football League is launching in Madison and New Haven this spring. The league is open to boys and girls from any town in the state who are in grades kindergarten through 6. It will run for eight consecutive Sundays, starting on Sunday, May 6 and ending on Sunday, June 24. Coach Mike Ferriaolo is the site director for the games that will place at Strong Field at the Madison Surf Club. Teams will be grouped by grade and coached by area high-school football players.

The league is designed to help kids learn the fundamentals of football in a fun, competitive environment. Practices will take place for one hour prior to the start of each one-hour game on Sundays. The kindergarten and 1st-grade session begins at 9 a.m. for practice and 10 a.m. for game time. The 2nd-grade session starts at 10 a.m., the 3rd-grade session commences at 11 a.m., 4th-grade begins at noon, 5th-grade starts at 1 p.m., and the 6th-grade will get underway at 2 p.m. Participants will receive a football jersey and shorts, in addition to getting eight weeks of practice and play time, and can either can put their own teams together or be assigned to a team.
