As the North Haven baseball team gets ready to embark on another season, the Indians’ senior captains decided that they wanted to do something nice for the benefit of the squad. Senior captain outfielder Peyton Farina and senior captain catcher Kevin Lucey led a fundraising effort that resulted in the purchase of five new batting helmets that North Haven will use this spring. Head Coach Bob DeMayo said that Farina and Lucey will make good captains this year, because they are always thinking about their team first.

North Haven is coming off a campaign that saw the squad post 18 victories, win a share of the SCC Quinnipiac Division title, and then advance all the way to the final of the Class L State Tournament. Coach DeMayo begins his 60th season as the Indians’ skipper with 884 career victories. North Haven will begin the season when it plays at Jonathan Law at noon on Saturday, March 31.
