Coyne Represents North Branford Boys’ Swimming at States

Freshman Connor Coyne represented North Branford by competing in a pair of events at the Class S Boys’ Swimming State Championship at Cornerstone Aquatics Center in West Hartford on March 14. Coyne scored 31 points between his performances in the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke to put the Thunderbirds into 31st place at the meet.

Coyne’s first event at states was the 200-yard individual medley, where he posted a time of 2:11 to finish in 10th place at score 17 points. Coyne’s time improved upon his mark of 2:13.73 from the Class LL Qualifying that was held the previous week.

Later in the meet, Coyne scored 14 more points for North Branford by taking 13th place in the 100 breaststroke behind a mark of 1:07.21. Coyne had previously recorded a time of 1:09.39 in the breaststroke at the qualifying meet.
