The Lyman Hall/Haddam-Killingworth/Coginchaug boys’ ice hockey team won its opening game in the Division III State Tournament last week, before taking a loss against Tri-Town in the quarterfinals. The Trojans finished their season with an overall record of 15-8.

The 6th-seeded Trojans hosted No. 11 seed Norwalk-McMahon in the first round of the Division III State Tournament and scratched out a 7-2 win on March 5 at the Northford Ice Pavilion. The team then took a 5-1 loss to Tri-Town in a quarterfinal contest at Trinity College on March 8. The Trojans led 1-0 after one period, but Tri-Town notched five unanswered scores to advance to the semifinals.
