The Lyman Hall/Haddam-Killingworth/Coginchaug boys’ ice hockey team competed in the SCC/SWC Division III Tournament as the top seed last week. The Trojans took a 4-3 loss against Bethel-Brookfield-Danbury in a game that came down to a shootout, which the opposition won by the margin of 4-3.

On Feb. 28, the top-ranked Trojans faced off with No. 4 seed Bethel-Brookfield-Danbury in the conference semifinals at the Milford Ice Pavilion, where the Icecats earned a 4-3 victory by prevailing 4-3 in the shootout session after the two squads were knotted through regulation. The Trojans trailed by scores of 2-0 and 3-1 during the game, but fought back to tie it at 3-3 in the third period to force the shootout; no overtime period was played.

Also last week, the Trojans’ Scott Bradley was announced as the SCC/SWC Division III Player of the Year prior to the game.
