The Shoreline Cougars U-18 baseball squad competed in the East Shore Travel League Playoffs, where Head Coach Dennis Annicelli’s squad won its opening contest this year. The Cougars won their first game in walk-off fashion against the Stratford Spartans, 6-5, and then saw their season come to a close with an 8-3 defeat against the New England Knights. The team finished its season with an overall record of 7-16.

Carmelo Rosa’s base hit plated Jeff Sypher with the winning run when Shoreline claimed its postseason victory against Stratford. Another big moment for the Cougars was when they handed the New England Knights their first loss of the year by a 4-0 score behind a stellar pitching performance from Matt Bjorkland.

Some of the other players who contributed for the Cougars throughout the season were Owen Marica, Ross Meglin, Mike Leffingwell, Jake Robertson, Scott Masse, Pat O’Leary, Michael O’Toole, Sam Erskine, Griffin Izzo, and Trevor Rydel.
