North Branford High School students Drew Sommo and Connor Jarmie competed in four Connecticut Bass Nation High School Fishing League tournaments this season and caught their five-fish limit in each competition for a total of 41 pounds and 13 ounces. These results led Sommo and Jarmie to a second-place finish among 16 other high school teams in the state and a spot in the Connecticut Bass Nation National that will be held on Kentucky Lake in Tennessee in 2018. The first-place team finished with 401 points. The four tournaments that Sommo and Jarmie competed in this year were at Lake Lillinonah in Bridgewater, Connecticut River in Haddam, Lake Zoar in Southbury, and Candlewood Lake in Danbury. They also volunteered their time at two adult tournaments to maximize their points.
