Rosado Finishes 5th in the Backstroke at the Open

Senior Laura Rosado posted a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.86 seconds on behalf of the East Haven-Wilbur Cross girls’ swimming and diving team at the State Open Championship at Yale University on Nov. 18. Rosado also placed 23rd in the 100 butterfly at 1:00.02 for the Yellowjackets. Rosado’s two performances resulted in 26 points that put East Haven-Wilbur Cross into 34th place at the Open meet.

Rosado has previously finished second in the backstroke with a 57.93 at the SCC Championship to earn All-Conference honors in the event for the second straight season. She then took third place with a time of 57.63 seconds at the Class LL State Championship to make All-State in the backstroke for the second year in a row. In the butterfly, Rosado placed fifth at both SCCs (59.27) and the state meet (58.66).
